The Pine Bluff Arsenal says a small amount of mustard agent has been shipped from the arsenal to a laboratory for analysis.
The sample was the first of several planned shipments of the chemical over the next few months. Arsenal officials say the samples will be used to verify chemical and physical characteristics of the mustard agent.
The mustard containers are the last munitions scheduled for destruction at the Pine Bluff Chemical Agent Disposal Facility. The samples were packaged specially for shipment via air transportation.
The arsenal did not give the location of the lab doing the testing.
